I’m honored to be the invited speaker at this gathering of the Committee of Professional Women, affiliated with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. This Affiliate group has member from across the greater Los Angeles area and focuses its philanthropical support on providing tickets for children in group homes to attend the LA Phil’s Symphonies for Youth. A very worthy endeavor!

My presentation—”Women in Western Classical Music History: Patrons, Performers, Pedagogues, Creators, and Conductors”—will explore the myriad ways that women have contributed to this musical tradition, but also the roadblocks to access (training and opportunities) that women face right up to the present moment.
