Opera for Educators: Le nozze di Figaro

January 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm PST

Calling teachers and opera lovers! The “Opera for Educators” seminars bring together experts in music, history, and opera production and performance for a day of learning and enjoyment.

Dr. Brown-Montesano kicks off the seminar on Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) with a look at how the composer and librettist converted Beaumarchais’s popular—and provocative—spoken play into one of the most beloved and frequently staged operas in the repertoire.

The “Opera for Educators” seminars take place live at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, but participants may also attend remotely via Zoom.
