Another adventure with the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s free Invited Rehearsal program! For this event, I will be introducing LA–area music students to the history and aesthetics of the concert overture and the concerto as genres. After the lecture, the students and their music teachers (hooray!) will enjoy a rare glimpse of the Los Angeles Philharmonic preparing for a concert, in this case Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 and Beethoven’s Overture to The Creatures of  Prometheus.

The LA Phil’s Invited Rehearsal program is open to school or extra-curricular instrumental music ensembles—jazz, wind ensemble, orchestra, chamber ensembles, etc.—with players in middle and/or high school (grades 6-12).
