DESCRIPTION:The final seminar of the Puccini100 series\, sponsored by the Opera League of Los Angeles\, will consider Puccini’s legacy and enduring popularity—not just in terms of the operas themselves\, but the influence Puccini’s music has had on music theater and film scoring. The last part of the seminar will wrap back to Madama Butterfly\, which opens the Los Angeles Opera’s 2024-25 season. \nThese special seminars for Opera League members have been held throughout the Los Angeles area\, bringing learning and community together.

This summer I have the pleasure of teaching in the Violin Bootcamp program for the first time\, thanks to an invitation from my colleague Aimee Kreston. I appreciate the invitation and Aimee’s mission: to provide her students more context for what they’re learning\, enriching them both culturally and technically.
