SUMMARY:Moderator & Educator:  LA Phil's "Invited Rehearsals" for Schools
DESCRIPTION:Invited Rehearsals provide young musicians and their instructors with a rare glimpse of the Los Angeles Philharmonic as the orchestra prepares for a concert. As part of the experience\, these student musicians—representing classroom instrumental ensembles from across Los Angeles County—gain first-hand insight into the rehearsal process\, guidance on ways to listen to emusic\, and the chance to present their own ensemble’s mission and values to the group. \nI am delighted to have collaborated with the LA Phil Learning Department for many years on these joyful educational events! This year\, in addition to moderating the presentations and Q&A\, I also will be offering student some tips about how to listen more actively to the musical sounds they will hear in the rehearsal. \n  \n
