DESCRIPTION:I’m ready to do some musical storytelling with the Orange County Youth Symphony led by Music Director Johannes Müller Stosch! One of my favorite performance collaborations are the joyous “Concerts for Fifth Grade\,” presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. We have an exciting ocean-adventure tale for our enthusiastic youngsters\, with the orchestra acting as the fiercely talented crew. The concerts also spotlight several OCYS musicians in the role of conductor! The musical program includes works by Beethoven\, Tchaikovsky\, and Korngold—as well a special “Golden” finale!

SUMMARY:Narrator: Free Family Concert / Orange County Youth Symphony
DESCRIPTION:This free concert is fantastic extension of my narrator duties with the  Orange County Youth Symphony (led by Music Director Johannes Müller Stosch) and graciously sponsored by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. The venue is perfect for a more intimate engagement with excited youngsters and their people. I literally never get tired of the magic that happens in these kinds of concerts: children help us feel the joy. \nThe program and presentation are similar to the PSOC’s “Concerts for Fifth Grade”: this time an exciting ocean-adventure tale for our enthusiastic youngsters\, with the orchestra acting as the fiercely talented crew. The concerts also spotlight several OCYS musicians in the role of conductor! The musical program includes works by Beethoven\, Tchaikovsky\, and Korngold—as well a special “Golden” finale!

Works include Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story\, Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony\, Gershwin’s  Rhapsody in Blue\, Still’s 
“Afro-American” Symphony\, Stravinsky’s Petrushka\, and Riley’s In C.  \nI’m delighted to be collaborating again with script writer Callan Milani\, who knows how to bring lessons to life. SUMMARY:Mason Concert: Vienness Piano Duo / Preconcert Talk (and Performance!)
DESCRIPTION:We’re BAAAAACK! By popular demand\, the Vieness Piano Duo—Eva Schaumkell and Vijay Venkatesh—and I will collaborate again on Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals with Ogden Nash’s cheeky narration. (Note: I will be updating a few of the verses for shameless laughs.) \nBut that’s just the finale! The Vieness Duo will offer plenty of amazing piano artistry in a program that spotlights works by Spanish and Latin American composers including Granados\, Piazzolla\, and Lecuona. \nA special plus of all Mason Concerts: Edith’s amazing soups\, chilis and curry chicken salad along with desserts and plenty of wine!
