My preconcert lecture delves into this fantastic musical program featuring programmatic works by four composers from four different countries: Henry Purcell (The Fairy Queen), Jean-Féry Rebel (Les éléments); Antonio Vivaldi (Concerto for Flute “La Notte”), and Georg Philippe Telemann (Don Quixote Suite).

The performance features harpsichordist-conductor Jonathan Cohen leading the SummerFest Baroque Orchestra, an extraordinary ensemble of stellar performing artists.
