I am honored to give the introductory lecture for Opening Night of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County‘s 77th season! Mezzo soprano Isabel Leonard and classical guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas will present a magical recital of Spanish language song and solo guitar gems, including arias from Carmen and The Marriage of Figaro, the Argentine favorite “Alfonsina y el Mar,” and Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega.

In addition to providing insights about the works themselves, my talk will explore the special flexibility of the guitar as a solo and accompanimental instrument. And, of course, riff on my love of the mezzo soprano voice!  #wannabemezzo
