I particularly enjoy these events because I have the honor of teaching teachers! The LA Opera designed the Opera for Educators workshop series as a professional development opportunity for local educators (K-12). Through multiple sessions and discussions, this particular workshop does a 360-degree review of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro. I will be focusing specifically on the female characters in my talk Teaching Rhetoric through Musical Style: the “Sound” of Class, Gender, and Emotion in Mozart’s Figaro.
