This is a rare opportunity to hear two requiem masterworks back to back. French composers Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Duruflé each conquered the form in their unique way. In my pre-concert talk, I will explore the social tradition of requiem as remembrance, compositional techniques, and historical context.
