I’m delighted to be back for another season of the “Exploring Opera” seminars, a free educational initiative of LA Opera Connects. For this first meeting of the series, I will introduce participants to the cultural—and musical—context that gave birth to Bizet’s Carmen, a perennial favorite in opera houses around the world.

The “Exploring Opera” learning series also offers LAUSD teachers an opportunity for professional development and salary points.
