Superstar pianist Yefim Bronfman presents a program that links in numerous ways with the city of Vienna: Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in D Major, Opus 10, No. 3,  Schubert’s Piano Sonata in A Minor, D.784, Opus 143, and Schumann’s Arabeske in C Major, Opus 18 and Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Opus 26. He will also offer a tribute to his long friendship with Esa-Pekka Salonen, playing the composer-conductor’s Sisar, a work dedicated to Bronfman.

My prelude lecture will illuminate how these works connect with music-loving Vienna, through the composers who lived in and visited that magical city.
