The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s free Invited Rehearsal program for music students is BACK! I had so much fun being a part of these special events before COVID hit, and now I have the privilege of returning as a lecturer, introducing works by Ravel and Saint-Saëns’ Third Symphony. Yes, I will be including a clip from the movie Babe. 🙂

Invited rehearsals provide students and their instructors with a rare glimpse of the Los Angeles Philharmonic preparing for a concert. As part of the experience, student ensembles gain first-hand insight into the rehearsal process, information on the repertoire and composers, and the chance to take part in a dynamic and interactive lesson with Upbeat Live faculty.

The program is open to school or extra-curricular instrumental music ensembles—jazz, wind ensemble, orchestra, chamber ensembles, etc.—with players in middle and/or high school (grades 6-12).
